Hello world!

March 31, 2009 by whereisthemoonDear God,
Thank You for all the blessings in my life. I cannot express my gratitude just by mere words of thanks. It is far beyond words. Your works and blessings in my life are ever so evident that I just have to thank You and to praise and to worship you with my utmost being. You are worthy; too worthy. What can I do but lift Your name up and up to the highest!!
Top in the list, God I want to thank You for your presence that is ever with me. Never have you left me, never will you leave me. I am always so assured that your presence is around and it comforts me. In times of distress, in times of trouble, You are there to hear my cry for help and lead me to inner peace like no other. Your reassuring presence always gives me the sense of security in my life. Thanks.
And of course, thank You for Your grace that is ever sufficient for me. I am unworthy; a trash; a sinful man. But God Your love never fails to reach out to me. Your love always stretches out to me when I fall. No matter how many times I fail again and again and again, Your grace is always there to life me up again. I have failed many times; 77 times. But Your forgiveness is up to 777 times. Though unworthy, You still used me as Your servant. It is such a privilege to serve You. Thanks.
Not forgetting this family that you have placed me in. It is not perfect but I am satisfied, contented. I am grateful that at least, I have a loving dad who is so sacrificial. Being in pain and agony of all the aches around his body, he still wakes up every weekday at 530am to work. Sometimes he even had to work overtime, consequently reaching home only at 1am and needs to wake up at 530am again. My heart aches for him, and grateful. Though not complete as a proper family, it is a family still. Thank You in advance for their salvation that is to come. Thanks.
I would also like to thank you for placing Dennis in my life, my mentor. It is without doubt that You have used him in many areas to speak into my life. He has been of great help to me in this spiritual walk with You. Getting me back on track every time I stray off, and pouring out his love which he had received from You. Thanks.
Thanks for bringing Yi Qin in my life at a young age of 11. It is a blessing to be able to have a close friend whom I have known since young, to grow up together, passing through different stages of life together. And the best part of all is to have a friend as a brother in Christ, as fellow servants, having the same vision to build Your church and to fulfill the Great Commission. It has been such a joy to have a friend and brother such as him. Thanks.
I also thank You for all the other friends that You have brought into my life. They have been very encouraging to me, encouraging me to grow and persevere and be strong. Supportive to me, helping me in areas that I am weak in. Loving to me, correcting me at times when I do wrong. Companion to me, being there with and for me. Tolerating to me, bearing all my nonsense and irritating moments. It is really so great to have these close friends whom i can live life with. Thanks especially for those whom You made me able to relate to more. You know it is not very easy for me to talk to anyone in a close measure, that’s why You placed in me those that are so easy to relate to closely. They are one of the greatest assets that I have in this life, for I am spending eternity with them. Thanks.
Not forgetting the numerous blessings that are in my life, 2 especially that I would like to mention.
First is the trip to Hainan, China. It must be You that have given me this opportunity to go there. Opening doors and closing doors to find a way for me to go overseas with the air tickets absolutely free. It is really amazing. Your perfect timing is beyond description, divine. I know for sure that this is Your plan that I am able to attend this trip. Being there to help out some community work, painting houses harvesting and teaching English, I know this is a good opportunity that I can be exposed to the world. To get a mind blowing experience to the rural parts to get a glimpse of how the world is life outside Singapore. And to see how big and how wide the world is than to be restricted in the mentality of Singapore. And to see the numerous people out in the world that needs a Savior. And to gain compassion for the world and to experience Your heartbeat for this broken world. I will treasure this opportunity that You have given me. You have all this in mind, for my sake. Thanks.
Secondly, thanks for the two experienced singer that you have lead me to. You know I love to sing and You know that I am still amateur. I have loads to learn and improve in. And I know you know because You lead two different people to me to learn singing from. It is really spectacular how You opened these doors. They were really helpful to teach me some techniques and correct some of my common errors. I pray that I would be able to improve even more to be able to serve You more effectively as a support singer. Thanks.
Many many thanks to You Dad!!
Your beloved child,
Claest
Love
February 16, 2009 by whereisthemoonMy current understanding for the term – Love:
Love is a COMMITMENT to make DECISIONS for the BEST of OTHERS.
COMMITMENT – It is not a feeling, but a responsibility or loyalty
DECISIONS – It is a deliberately effort to make a choice
BEST – Decisions that may even be not pleasing
OTHERS – Best for others without any conditions; Selfless
Short stupid post…
February 1, 2009 by whereisthemoonARH!! I HAVE NO TIME TO POST MY LEARNINGS!! Ha…
I have been busy doing my projects for the past few weeks. Man… its tedious. Actually come to think of it, its all not tooooooo hard to do. I think its due to my extreme ‘slakiness’ and good procrastination skills that caused this much delay, as if there is a whole lot of work to do. Ha… ARH!! I have to be more disciplined!! I need to make my body my slave!! Ha…
Anyway, this is just a short stupid post. Ha… I have around 3 posts in mind already. LOL!! I have been learning and would like to share when i have got the time. Let me just give the glimpse of each…

Divine Meet with Xiao Guai (Part 2)
January 23, 2009 by whereisthemoonContinued from the previous post…
The spiritual journey of Xiao Guai…
(May miss out some details or may be wrong at some points)
——————————————————–
Let me share his conversion story.
In the vicinity he lives, Jesus is still a pretty ‘huh?’ thing. Majority of the people have never even heard of the name Jesus before. However, somehow, he kind of heard of that name, when he was primary 5 or 11 years old. It should be from an aunt. And the aunt even gave him a bible. And of course, being only 11 years old, bible is like nonsense. Thus, he threw it aside. Till now, he is still clueless about Christianity.
When he went to secondary school, he was badly influenced and was led astray. He was violent and vulgar. It was only until upper secondary, there was a sudden peace and joy in him that changed him. He had no idea why the sudden change.
In addition, he is also very unsettled throughout his life since then, even through his college life. He felt that something was amiss in his life. There seemed to be a void in his heart that can never be filled. There is a kind of hunger that he could not describe. However, since he had no idea what it is, he let it be.
After his college, around age 21, he was attending some outside classes. It happened there was once he forgot to bring his book, and ended up sharing with this man who is 40 plus. At the end of the day, after dinner together, they even exchanged contact number. Interesting…
The best part is this. Not only did they exchange contact, the man invited him to his rented house. Xiao Guai got to know the family. It came to a point, after just a few months, the man trust Xiao Guai so much that he gave Xiao Guai the key to the house. He is free to enter and leave the house as and when. What the…
That was the rented house. After the old hag had his new owned house which is pretty nearby, he shifted in. Xiao Guai, had the keys to his new house as well. And at times, when it is too late and it is too cold, Xiao Guai would just stay over at his place.
Then came one faithful day, after spending the night over at his place, he decided to bring his kid for a jog in the vicinity. Along the way, he saw a sign that reads ‘Jesus loves you’, hanging outside a church. He had a very vague reminiscence of seeing it somewhere before. Then he remembered the aunt telling him that phrase before, or maybe had read in the bible before. He then walked in. There was a surge of peace and satisfaction in his heart. The void is filled. The huger is fed. He sent the boy home and came back again to get the sensation. He then asked one of the members of the church about this very feeling.
After gaining the knowledge, he received Christ there and then. CLAP CLAPS!!
Isn’t it amazing how God arranged everything just in place? From Primary 5, all the way to providing him a weird old hag that allows him free access to his house, then happened so nicely that he saw that sign on that very day at that place. God is definitely divine.
——————————————————–
That is not all. There is still a load of stuff that he shared with us about that very night. However, I am too tired to share the whole thing now. And I guess I would feel lazy to type it out the next time. Ha.
Divine Meet with Xiao Guai (Part 1)
January 20, 2009 by whereisthemoonGod is Divine. He sure knows how to plan His time well. Every second matters in His precise arrangement. The people we meet, the things we do, the troubles we face, the place we are born in, the parents we have, the looks we have, our future, all these has been planned out perfectly in the wisdom and knowledge of the Most High God. I am truly amazed at how God works in our life. All the little details and how it all forms up together never fail to keep me awe.
The reason for this sudden proclamation is my divine meet with Xiao Guai, a Chinese from China.
The story begins when Yi Qin and I happen to be at this void deck area around his house. We were practicing worship for Caregroup the next day and we chose that spot because there were sockets for me to charge my laptop. This is the first thing I thank God about – POWER SOCKETS AT VOID DECK AREA!!! Continuing, honestly, we could have been at any other place to practice that night, and the truth is, we have never been there at that spot together before. Well, my believe is that that was how God planned it to be.
Soon later, halfway through the second song, we saw this smiley red topped guy and gentle faced, walking around us with his hands placed in the back pocket. Yi Qin’s first thought was if we were too noisy and had disturbed the neighbors. So he asked if we were. It turned out that he was just strolling around. Ok, next thing to thank God about -We weren’t disturbing the neighbors though we were pretty loud.
Out of a curious mind, he then asked what we were doing. Well, he asked in Chinese and with the accent he spoke in, he is from China. And obviously, being a sucker in Chinese, I don’t know how to reply him telling him ‘Praise and Worship’ in Chinese. Yi Qin, being the smarter one only in Chinese, said ‘Zhan Mei Jing Bai’. His smile grew wider. Then after a few rounds of questioning, we realized that he was from Marine Parade’s Church Of Singapore. And he actually knows Hope Church due to an incidental meet up with a Hope Church member from the adults group. Our smile grew wider. Thank God for the connection.
He sat beside me and watched us practice ‘The Potter’s Hand’, trying to sing along with the lyrics, though he could not catch much of it. But thankfully he knows the song and knows a bit of English. After 5 minutes or so, we paused. Yi Qin had to do some things. I felt weird leaving him there sitting by my side being so quiet. So I post a question, ‘Do you know the song?’, and yes he did, there is even a Chinese version of that song. Then, Yi Qin continued asking some questions regarding his stay in Singapore and how he got to know God and such.
This is where the real interesting story begins.
In summary, he shared about his job in Singapore, how he got to know God, the experiences that he had with God, how he got into the church in Marine Parade, how has God been leading his life and basically, his spiritual journey with God.
The whole story is freaking long. And so, I have decided to post this up first and continue my story, or rather his story, in the next post.
To be continued…

Can I Borrow $25
January 15, 2009 by whereisthemoonHere comes another story that i came across the other day.
—————————————————————-
Can I Borrow $25?
A man came home from work late, tired and irritated, to find his 5-yearold son waiting for him at the door.SON: 'Daddy, may I ask you a question?'DAD: 'Yeah sure, what it is?' replied the man.SON: 'Daddy, how much do you make an hour?'DAD: 'That's none of your business. Why do you ask such a thing?'the mansaid angrily.SON: 'I just want to know. Please tell me, how much do you make anhour?'DAD: 'If you must know, I make $50 an hour.'SON: 'Oh,' the little boy replied, with his head down.SON: 'Daddy, may I please borrow $25?'The father was furious, 'If the only reason you asked that is so you canborrow some money to buy a silly toy or some other nonsense, then youmarch yourself straight to your room and go to bed. Think about why youare being so selfish. I don't work hard everyday for such childishfrivolities.'The little boy quietly went to his room and shut the door. The man sat down and started to get even angrier about the little boy'squestions. How dare he ask such questions only to get some money? After about an hour or so, the man had calmed down , and started to think:Maybe there was something he really needed to buy with that $25.00 and hereally didn't ask for money very often The man went to the door of thelittle boy's room and opened the door.'Are you asleep, son?' He asked.'No daddy, I'm awake,' replied the boy.'I've been thinking, maybe I was too hard on you earlier' said theman.'It's been a long day and I took out my aggravation on you. Here'sthe $25you asked for.'The little boy sat straight up, smiling. 'Oh, thank you daddy!' heyelled. Then, reaching under his pillow he pulled out some crumpled up bills. The man saw that the boy already had money, started to get angry again. The little boy slowly counted out his money, and then looked up at hisfather.'Why do you want more money if you already have some?' the fathergrumbled.'Because I didn't have enough, but now I do,' the little boyreplied.'Daddy, I have $50 now. Can I buy an hour of your time? Please come homeearly tomorrow. I would like to have dinner with you.'The father was crushed. He put his arms around his little son, and hebegged for his forgiveness. It's just a short reminder to all of you working so hard in life. Weshould not let time slip through our fingers without having spent sometime with those who really matter to us, those close to our hearts. Doremember to share that $50 worth of your time with someone you love.
———————————————————————–
God, i pray that You will help me be observant and keep a look out for people in my life. People who need my time, such as my family, close friends, caregroup members and my sheep. I pray that i will be able to avail more and more of my time to people around me, though i can never avail myself as much as You do. Also, please bless me with tons and tons of money so that i am able to buy time from those whom i love. Amen.
